real quick question about dummys
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, April 24, 2004 10:47 PM
As the subject this should be quick, What is the difference between a dummy mechanism and a dummy truck. I ask because the truck is around $5 and the mechanism is around $20. Which one do I need to get if the trucks are missing on a athearn blue box gp35?

If the locomotive is going to be a straight dummy, and the only problem is the trucks, then just buy the dummy trucks. There's no need to buy the entire mechanism.

I agree,. The dummy mechanism includes the frame, trucks worm housings and coupler clips..
NOTE If you buy just the trucks, you will need to buy worm housings to hold them on. They aren't included with the trucks.
