You know, you don't have to merge with the NH to have a patched NH unit. It could've been purchased second-hand; most shortlines don't buy new locomotives at all, for example, the WRS currently has a bunch of units that origanally belonged to a whole host of railroads including C&O, CPRail, and UP, plus a GP9M from who knows where, and possibly an SD45 (probably ex-Santa Fe or SP) if Alex gets around to ordering it...[;)]

Of course, only the GP9M is painted (or will be as soon as it sees WRS rails again), and the SD45 will be if I get it; the other units (UP, C&O, and CPRail) will need to be repainted or at least patched. I'm thinking that CPRail 5009 will be repainted as WRS 2500, C&O 2306 will be repainted as WRS 2306, and UP 1402 will just be patched to WRS 1402. This is because of all the fine details on 1402, which would be hard to paint without damaging them.

The WRS uses a horsepower-based numbering system, a 1750 HP GP9M is in the 1750 series, a 2500 HP GP35 goes in the 2500 series, and a 2250 HP (WRS 2306 was upgraded to 2300 Hp, however) U23B goes into the 2250 serie, except the WRS units are in the 2300 series.

Former UP 1402 was patched but not renumbered, otherwise it would be in the 2550 series. (it has 2500 HP, but it has quite a bit more tractive effort than a like HP GP35 because of the 6 axle trucks.

And now I will stop confusing you...and myself...[:-^]
