2nd BOWSER QUESTION?
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, April 16, 2004 4:23 PM
I see Bowser locos in hobby shops but must admit I never see their freight cars being offered! Also, my go-to discount/intenet mail order places don't seem stock them, either. I did find them at 1st Place, however, most of their Bowser kits are out-of-stock. I would guess I can buy direct at mrp prices.

Where have you been buying Bowser freight cars?

Hmmm.... exact opposite for me. I'm going to get a few of their ACF covered hoppers undec. and paint them in the Q's silica sand service scheme. Last time I went to the LHS, there were two undec. hoppers, as well as a WABASH and GM&O hopper. I have never seen a locomotive kit in there, though.

So, either come to Alton, or order.[(-D]

I just received a dozen Bowser freight cars direct from Bowser in v.good time and I bought on reputation/web site description and I am very impressed with the product and the service. They sure don't appear in my LHSs but for me, I 'll order again. Ask for their CD Catalogue free with $US30 + orders, good to have.
Geoff I wish I was better trained.

Of the 4 shops within a 30-40 minute drive for me, 3 of them stock Bowser cars, but none of them have engine kits. I guess the engine kits just don't sell fast enough to merit stocking them.

Look in Model Railroad Craftsman magazine (sorry I have to mention a competitor magazine, Andy) for the Model Railway Post Office advertisement. MRPO seems to have every Bowser kit. Be aware, however, that they seem to list Bowser only every-other month. In the May 2004 issue they feature Accurail kits instead of Bowser. They also have a Web site you can browse (http://www.modelrailwaypo.com)
