Hi,
I will be moving to Gettysburg around June/July timeframe, and looking to form a new HO club to be located in Gettysburg, PA.
I would like to start with a modular operation and build into a fixed layout. Hopefully, we can have weekly meetings, monthly public open houses, and full operating sessions.
If you are interested or know someone, please send me an e-mail: vjbell52@verizon.net
Regards,
Happyrails.

[#welcome] to the forum Burkeman1 !
I wish you the best of luck in forming a club after you move. You may want to contact Tommy Gilbert at Gilberts Hobbies on Water Street in G-burg to see what kind of local club action there may already be in the area. Also there may be some round-robin type operations in the area.
If you dont mind a short drive south, (20-30 mins?) there is an established modular group, that meets in members homes in the area. With monthly meetings and exhibits at shows, the layout is close to 30 x 100 now. Check the website at www.fcsme.org for more info. We're ALWAYS looking for new members, and all are welcome.[:D]
Best of luck with your move.[:D] Pack carefully!!!

Thank you for the response and offer to get involved with your group.
You have some great modelers in your club. I wanted to see the FCSME modules at Timoniom, but ran out of time.
I have returned to model railroading after a 30 year absence. For the past two years, I have been a member of the Northern Virginia Model Railroaders, Vienna, Va (nvmr.org).
Hope to meet you in the near future.

I live in the Carlisle area, about a 30-45 minute drive from Gettysburg. I'd be interested in a club in the area, but mostly for learning purposes. I'm not sure I could contribute much. as I'm still very much a beginner. Let us all know if and when it happens!
