However, I have to say I have yet to see an all brass car or loco on the prototype. I don't understand people's leaving brass pieces in their natural state. To me it's like leaving a model kit 3/4ths built, or leaving the last part off. However, to each his own. I understand that a paint job can be done poorly and therefore decrease the value of a brass piece.
