SOO exciting!

I'm one of those lucky folks who lives in a great location for trainspotting--to my north lies an east-west line on which I get to see lots of NS, UP, and BNSF locos hauling mainly intermodal traffic. To the east lies a north-south line on which lots of IC, CN, WC, and Amtrak trains go by. Well, as if I'm not already lucky enough as it is, today I got a special treat. I got to see 2 SOO Line locos pulling thru a line of empty gondolas! Oh gosh, looks like I may have to start modeling another road now!!

LOL, yes, the SOO is a cool road. If I could model something else, I'd model Michigan with the GT, SOO, C&O, and Pere Marquette.

My first locomotive was a SOO line GP-38, and it was neat with that red cab and white body.

Now I'm broken hearted, All that I saw today was 3 GP-38-2s towing a WSOR mixed freight with the special edition " We Support Our Troops " with the American Flag logo car in the consist go by. I sure wi***hat I could have seen those SOO LINE units. Its been a while since I've been able to get up to Watertown Wi. to watch for any coming through. Some day the SOO LINE units will be no more, Being replaced with the golden rodent logos of the CP.
