Kato SD40-2 CNW
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, March 25, 2004 7:47 PM
I just bought a Kato SD40-2 in CNW's Falcon Service. I paid $90 for it. I bought it because I haven't seen one on Ebay or on several web site stores. My question is, are these rare and did I get a good deal. I know how much most Katos go for but this one was hard to find and it was a stroke of luck to find it.

Thanks,
Jeremy

also forgot to mention. you will have to solder wires form the trucks to the PC board other wise it won't run very well.

There has been many posts covering the electrical concerns about the Kato SD-2.

There are solutions when the problem eventually developes.
I own one but I 'm very-very careful in picking it up. Do not pick
it up my the shell. Do not let the trucks suspend.

Use two five finger cranes, each set wraped over the shell, extending
down around the truck.

6910 is the number on it. I kinda wish I bought something else. I love the CNW but the Falcon Service scheme just don't do it for me.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Are u talking about N or HO scale? I have a spare N scale unit (road# 6922) which I never ran it. I am willing to sell it at US$120 (plus you paid the freight to ship to US) as this is the original price I paid for. Please email me at warner_tsui@yahoo.com if you are interested.
