American Flyer? If yes, its a model of a Reading RR prototype. It was my first S "scale" engine after my Marx O27 set. It was used and came from Madison Hardware on 23rd St in Manhattan in approx. 1952. Anybody remember the A.C. Gilbert corporate store on Broadway, Polk's on 5th Ave., AHC retail store upstairs on lower Eastside of Manhattan (forgot what street) ? Had a 4 x 8 layout my Dad built for me on a platform that folded in half-had a reverse loop. passing siding, two other sidings and a loop - in S Amer. Flyer in a five -story walk up one bedroom apartment in Queens. There is never a valid reason - only an excuse - for not having enough room for a model railroad! (My Mother tolerated my Dad & me)
