I have approximately 300 freight cars, but only about ten of these have been "outshopped" ready for service, meaning that they have complete weathering, and meet standards for weight, and ride on Micro-Trains trucks & couplers. All the rest are awaiting their turn at the workbench, some needing major work (such as the hoppers I am kitbashing) and some just plain unsalvageable; I bought about two thirds of them while in high school and on a limited budget. <br /> <br />I keep buying more, but I reckon that this is just about the right number for my 15 ft. by 15 ft. shelf+peninsula layout.
