Noisy Bachmann 4-6-0 Steamer

I have a new Bachmann 4-6-0 engine. It runs well, but in the mid speed range it has a very loud hum. I have lubricatred all the running gear, but no help. Has anyone else had this problem, and how did you fix it?

Are you using the engine as a Analog (Regular 12 volts no DCC) on a DCC controlled system?

Some Analog engines have a noticable hum when run on DCC track. And I understand rumor and hearsay that some motors can be ruined. Any other ideas folks?

The engine is run on DCC. I use a digitrax system and the loco has a soundtraxx decoder installed.

Hmm, I've had a problem with my Spectrum 4-8-2 very similar to your problem. Only when mine starts going faster, there's a scraping sound coming from the tender rucks. They don't look like they're hitting anything, and it only makes that sound when the wheels are on the track. If you roll it on the table it's quiet as a mouse. Heck, my Bachmann 0-6-0 is quiter than this thing!!!!!!
