I bought a Bachman Spectrum Steam Locamotive, a Baldwin 2-8-0-New Haven. I'm trying to get some History on the real engine. I'd like to find out what time period it ran, so when I start a layout, i can focus on a certain time period. I'd also like to find a diesel engine from the same time period that hauls passenger cars. Does anyone have any thoughts on this, or knows of any websites that can help me out on researching the history of the baldwin 2-8-0 consolidated line.
As you can probably gues, I'm somewhat of a novice at model railroading, but a good model maker!
Thanks
James

The Baldwin 2-8-0 Consolidations were used right up to the end of the steam era (1959) on some rail roads. You may want to check www.bachmanntrains.com for what year they were built.
