For you guys who are ound 11, 12, 13 or so, what is your layout like ? what era, region, and railroad do you model ? what is your trackplan like ? I am currently operating on a loop of E-Z track. My layout will be a folded dogbone plan which will take up 2 walls of my bedroom. Curves will be 18 radi [:0][:0] There will be a small staging yard, engine terminal, yard, depot, a few industries, and will be controlled by Bachmann E-Z command DCC. The line will be called the Oklahoma, Red River, & Gulf , a small railroad ( not a shortline ) owned by the Rock island and the MKT. Western oklahoma in the 50's is the region and era. just share about your layout here !

Well, my layout will be a 5x8 just plan out table style layout. Union Pacific (along with Santa Fe, D&RGW, WP, SP, and maybe CB&Q) in the 40s and 50s. Mostly steam, but there will be diesels, too. Western based, Cheyenne to Los Angles, or something like that. Freight will be dominant but there will be passenger, too. Nothing like the UP in the waning days of steam!!![:D][:D][:)]
Anyways, it'll be with EZ track, 26 and 22 inch radius curves (and some 18, too, if they'll fit). I plan on DCC, but until then it'll be DC. I haven't even gotten the bench work yet, the place where my layout was supposed to go, GRRRR[:(!] But anyhow, I can't wait to get started. I'll be able to do more in the summer because there'll be no school.

Hey,
Mine is a free lanced location, but I'm modeling the Wisconsin and Southern (WSOR). The WSOR is a present day class 1 railroad that runs in southern Wisconsin. It's a 16x8 L shaped layout. its a loop around the out side of the layout (The layouts in the center of the room, because of my Dad's comic book colection along the wall), with a small yard for a grain company in the middle, and several small sidings. I run operations with train car lists and locations where they are to be picked up or droped off, next to the car #. The scenery isn't very good, because most of it was done when I was 9-10 and I didn't know much about the scenery techniques then. It's DC, with 3 blocks so I can have the Wisconsin Centeral switcher that switches the grainry come out on the main line and add and take cars from the main line local. My new layout will be DCC. At the moment, I'm planning a layout based on the WSOR's Reedsburg sub in Wisconsin. This is going to be approximentaly 20x20 (This won't be till i get my own house, and if I can get more space that'll be great) around the wall layout. I cant wait till I get this built.
