Athearn 50th Anniversary Model Railroad Boxcar
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, March 1, 2004 7:33 PM
Hello everyone,

I would like to know if the Athearn 50th Anniversary Model Railroader Boxcar (Kit #6010) is a rare Athearn product or if it's easily available to order through stores.

Thanks,

urbancowboy,

I've got mine on order at my local hobby shop, but they've said athearn has told them they haven't been relesed yet. Athearn has them as December 2003 release, but so far they're not.

Hey Noah,

Are you talking about the 70th Anniversary Edition? I recently purchased the 50th Anniversary Edition from ebay and wanted to know if the 50th Anniversary Edition is a rare find or not.

Thanks,

Urbancowboy - The MR 50th Anniversary car is the most common of all the earlier anniversary cars and there is often one on eBay at any given time. The rarest of this ongoing series is probably the 25th Anniversary car (1959), although a 40th (1974) in really good condition can be hard to find too (it had a poor paint job that quickly shows wear). Nothing earlier than the 65th Anniversary car(s) is likely to be available in any hobby shop currently.
