secondhandmodeler: here are some things I think could help save for a house.

limit spending

recycle bottle/cans if you can.

try not to take out a monster sized loan.
Thanks for the advice. My wife makes good money, just not enough to bail out my store. I have a new job lined up making between 35 and 40 thousand a year to start. We have had to learn to live cheap the past two years. I haven't taken home a paycheck in over a year. With the new living configuration, I'm figuring we can save between two and three thousand a month. That gives me two years to save around fifty thousand dollars. This may actually be on the low side, but I don't want to be too ambitious. I already negotiated track-age rights to the second bedroom in the apartment. I have to share it with the computer and a couch, but at least it's something. By going broke, we'll actually come out way ahead. I just have to get through the process. On a modeling note, I can't wait to be able to plan for larger steamers. I'm truly fascinated by the war years and the fifties. I'm thinking a troop train will have to be in the cards. Anyway, thanks again.
A E I O U and sometimes Y
