Neophyte software question

We are about to move to a huge new basement with a condo attached. I want to inventory rolling stock prior to the move and eventually use the inventory to create waybills, etc.
Is there a software program which will enable me to inventory by car type, road name, numbers prior to storage for use later and insurance purposes?
Thanks in advance for your comments.

There are several computer programs that will do what you want, including Microsoft Access if you are running Windows. A program is being sold on E-bay that you might want to look at, or perform a Google search for Model Railroad Database Software.
