Structure Clamps

Can anyone tell me who manufactures the clamps for structure walls to hold them at 90 deg. while you glued them? They were featured in MR a few months ago, but now when I need them I can't find the issue

Not sure which article you are referring to there have been a few different clamping systems featured. I built my own using angle aluminium and a couple screws and nuts.

I just received the clamps from COFFMAN ENG, I have to say they work really well. They are a really good design and could be made pretty easily, if your not worried about things like patents, copyrights, etc. But for personal use I'd recommend trying to make them.

I don't think they make them - they are just selling the same "Right Clamp" that Coffman makes.

These things are a ripoff in my opinion. They list for around twenty bucks and have about two dollars or less of easily obtainable hardware in them.

Some people have a lot of nerve...and they say the price of the hobby isn't out of line...BALONEY!

You know, I gotta agree with this right here. Its not like you need ultra-precision here. Someone could easily get some strong square magnets and a sheet of sheet metal with 90 degree walls bent around the edge for less than $20.

I dunno: while certainly not rocket surgery or brain science, the clamps are rather ingenious, well designed, seem to work correctly, and are sturdy enough:

I'd have to agree there are many, many overpriced, cheezy "tools" listed in modelling catalogs, but these clamps at least earn their keep and fill a need...

I would agree that it looks pretty simple to make - if one has the skills. Wish I would have thought up the idea before someone else patented it! lol

I think I'll stick with the small bar clamps that I've used in the past.

Kinda like those pieces of cardboard that folks buy to put in their windshields. Can't imagine the profit margin on those!

I nice flat piece of steel and some steel super magnets work great. Very affordable.
