I have found that the MAAS is the best out of all my cleaning agents including the $99.00
Tony's clean machine.
I cut 6" or 7" long strips of old cotton t-shirts, approx 2 1/2 " wide and wrap them around a small block of wood, similar to a brite boy or the brite boy it self.
Apply the MAAS to the long narrow bottom of the block and drag across the rail head.
Allow to slightly dry and wipe off with an untreated t-shirt material wrapped around the block.
This way you don't over apply beyond the tracks.

I have used just about any metal polish and used an old piece of cork to spread it on the rails. I then use another piece of cork or old cloth to wipe off the film. Have't had to clean the track in 8 months! And with 2800ft of track this maens a lot!

Also automotive polishing compound, a 7 oz can for three or four bucks.
You might have some in your garage.
