Launch of Trains.com
Posted by Railfan2882 on Thursday, August 9, 2001 12:50 AM
Does anyone know when the launch of Trains.com is supposed to be finished. Before Model Railroader switched to this new website, I used to be able to contact MR about modeling problems and questions and get an expert's opinion. In fact, it was through the internet that I had two of my questions published in the magazine. I enjoy being able to talk directly to the leading authorities of the hobby.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Gregory,

Thanks for asking, since I wasn't aware that when you go to "Contact the Magazine" on the MODEL RAILROADER home page you get a message saying "We are currently in the process of completing the launch of Trains.com. Please check here often for updates." I'll look into that because most other parts of Trains.com are up and running and have been for some time.

Nevertheless, all of us at MR are accessible and have been all along. You can go to "Meet the Staff" to find each of our addresses spelled out, but it's even easier than that. My e-mail address is asperandeo@mrmag.com, and the rest of my staff have addresses in the same format: first initial and last name with no spaces at mrmag.com.

All of our question-and-answer departments in the magazine have their own addresses, which are given at the end or each column every month. They are:

workshop@mrmag.com
proto@mrmag.com for "Prototype Info"
askpaintshop@mrmag.com

Our Railway Post Office column has an e-mail address also, rpo@mrmag.com. We ask that when writing to any of these columns you include your name, city, and state (or province for our Canadian friends) so we can show where your comment or question comes from if we use it in the magazine.

Hoping to hear from you soon,

Andy Sperandeo
