I for one appreciate the good modeling shown in the catalog. Very well done.20 years ago, one bought the Catalog at what? 20 dollars? and it was the end-all for keeping up on what is availible in the hobby. There was no internet that was useable for families back then.Today I suspect Walthers lowered the pricing because of the Internet. A few strokes on the keyboard reveals all you want to know (And generates questions) about anything in the hobby.If you looked at my Catalog Buying history.. I would say one every year until about 2000 then once every 2-4 years or longer. Now that the pricing is under 10 dollars, I can go back to getting one every year.To tell you the truth, Horizion Hobbys and other large Distributors might want to consider catalogs as well in HO scale.What I have done is started to compile my 2008 buying out of the book and slowly email the hobby shop so they can pre-order these items and have them before the dreaded "Retired Model" appears.Wait a minute.. they STILL show "Retired model" here and there...
