Good point for me to weigh in again.

I conflated the two SEEMINGLY ENDLESS threads because it amused me to do it.

All this whining about the UP enforcing its copyright strikes me as silly. The UP has every right to charge a licensing fee for COMMERCIAL USE OF ITS PROPERTY, which logos and paint schemes are as surely as rollingstock and rails. That they are doing it with vigor seems to upset some small segment of the modeling community. However, all the ire expressed is long past being either topical or interesting.

I twined the now faux UP furror with the other endless thread: attempting to run outsized rollingstock on undersided layouts, because it too has a life of its own. To the point of seeming immortality.

Both threads (IMO at least) have plainly outlasted their usefullness. Its time to end them, finally and without hope of resurection. Why? Because both are lacking in a sense of fitness and proportion, which is what modeling is about. Suitability and proportion.

Randy

PS No offense to those slothful few who have prematurely purchased their outsized motive power but have yet to actually snap together the 18" radius curves.

[soapbox]
