Norfolk and Southern long end forward
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, January 31, 2004 8:26 PM
I'm adding Norfolk and Southern to my layout and I was wondering how to
re-wire the engine to run long end forward. I'm not very electronically clever, but I can perform simple jobs.
Thanks

Norfolk & Southern rarely ran engines long hood forward. The Norfolk Southern frequently does.

Just put the engine on the track pointing the other way, no re-wiring required - assuming you are running straight DC. If you have DCC, just reverse the direction with your thottle.

Are you modeling the old (grey with red and white stripes and black lettering) or the new Norfolk Southern (the one we know of, black and white). It's interesting to know that when the old Norfolk Southern was purchased by Southern in 1974, all of the low hood EMDs recieved high noses.

If your using DCC, you can change the NDOT (normal direction of travel) of the decoder. CV29. Dave
