washers
Posted by ridgemen on Monday, January 21, 2008 7:10 AM

I have been using very small red and also gray washers to adjust the coupler height of my rolling stock. I don't know the proper way to ID these washers.

I would like to purchase a very large quantity of each type once and for all.

My hobby shop only sells them in small amounts. Can anyone suggest a place where I can purchase these in very large numbers?

Ask your LHS if they can offer a discount on volume purchase. Since you get the washers there, they have the model number of each one AND the supplier. Be sure to ask the minimum quanity and COST before committing.

They appear to be made by or at least supplied by Kadee, Walthers calls them Fiber Washers.

I think you could order them here, note minimum 1000 pcs.

I'm sure Kadee is getting them from some electronics supply company. Probably paying $3/1000 and then charging $5 for 20.Dead [xx(]

Cut out the middle man!

I use ordinary #6 flat steel or brass washers from the hardware store.
