MR reviewed this model in Oct 2000 and it stated that Conrail did buy 28 of the units that EMD started producing in 1984. <br />Reference is made to "The book EMD's SD60 series by Diesel Era(Withers Publishing) contains lots of prototype information including rosters. <br />Hope this helps.
