All forms,Classis Toy trains,Classic Trains,Trains magazine, have done away with with "advertising pop-ups".Model Railroad fourm section still has one.We as fourn members know where to find or buy magazines related to the hobby. The pop-ups are a "pain in the neck".Please consider removing them!
Thank you!

Dave,
There have been two other topics, that I know of, about this and they haven't gotten rid of
them yet. I use Netsacape browser which has a built in pop-up blocker and have never
seen a pop-up here or anywhere else for that matter since I been using it. You can
download numerous blockers from the web. Try :

You have my vote on this one. MR doesn't have to worry about me, and I suspect many others, of not being aware when their special publications are due out.
Maybe an alternative to the pop up is to set up one of the top threads for up and coming events and special offers. Much in the same way they have there poll of the week set up.
Just a suggestion, [bow]

I too don't really enjoy the pop-ups but bear in mind this is part of what pays the cost of having the forums in the first place. It is just like over the air TV, you get commercials because they pay for the cost of the content. To emphasize my point, I have dial up access so pop ups make viewing take longer than without them but I'll still accept that as a "mior cost" of getting this for free. I don't want to pay for it.
I also hate to do anything to discourage folks from participating in any forum but it seems to me that model railroad questions and postings would get a better "audience" here than in the other forums which are more and more becoming loaded with model railroad items. I would hope some thought be given to diplomatically suggesting folks post model railroad items in the model railroad forum.
Just my thoughts.
Dale
