What is a safe and good looking raidus for the class 4-8-4 and the
sp 4-8-4 daylight, is a 26 raidus a good raidus for big boy and
mallat

In N scale, should be okay.

In HO, the plastic models will operate okay, but for best appearance, think about 36" radius min, preferrably 48" min.

Some people don't have that much room for curves. 26" radius is okay for a non-brass 4-8-8-4, as long as there are no rail lines running parallel to it. The over hang may smash into other equipment.

The GS-4 may need at least 24" radius.
