David, <br /> Brass models can and often are tempermental beasts. You didn't specify which scale you're working in, this can make a diffenced at times. <br /> The best advice I can give, without more info, is to find someone in your area who has expirenece to act as a mentor. By thier very nature of being "hand made", no two models are exactly alike and different manufactures have their preffered way of doing things. <br /> Be patient and know that there are ways of recovering from just about any mistake including painting and soldering. <br /> <br />John
