Mine's currently a couple of 4x1 boards - bolted end to end to give an 8x1 layout. It's modular in that it disassembles for transport to shows and if the space it occupies is needed for other things. I'm planning another 4x1 board as an extension that will be used as part of the layout for shows and as a diorama/display/storage shelf at home - something to park locos and cars that will not go back in their original boxes due to either being too long post-assembly or due to detailing parts. I'm planning to move the layout across the room onto a set of storage cupboards which will hold all the stock, parts, etc. I do need to sort out the electrical connection between the boards - looking for some suitable plugs and sockets as the ones currently in use are unreliable and have more contacts than are really necessary.
