And if they want to buy my UP models to protect their logo their checkbook needs lots of money because by their actions these are worth lots more now.

Who cares when the Athearn Challenger will be out. If they have the same price tag as other Challengers coming out I'll buy a fleet of something else. Oh that's another dead horse sorry!

Interestingly, this whole UP greed thing seems to be a singular event in the entire history of real train-toy train relationships, which
have always been warm.

The Santa Fe actually helped to pay for a toy train model of its F-3 in the early 1950s, which then went on to be a
wild hit and created good publicity for the railroad.

Never have model railroaders, until now, been angry with a railroad. Sure, the Penn Central was disliked for a variety of reasons, but
never was there the animosity that now exists between a railroad and modelers. The UP is seen as just another example of corporate
greed, sort of like a giant Enron or World-Com, out to screw the little people--greedily stealing money from children who want a toy
train, and elderly on fixed incomes.

Sometimes, pictures are a better way to tell a story and evoke feelings than words. In this instance, this UP drawing I posted earlier in this thread sums it up nicely
for me and many others on this forum.

Bravo!
