HOn3 Switches
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, January 10, 2001 11:45 AM
Does anyone make HOn3 code 55 switches other than BK? I want to use railcraft code 55 flex but I can only find code 70 switches. Help!

Your question has been out there for quite some time with no response, welcome to the world of narrow guage! I chose to use code 70 track because I am running articulated steam, and need the heavier track. So,,, I haven't done the research to find commercial turnouts in code 55.
The only thing I can offer is that maybe this is a good time to learn how to make your own turnouts. I,ve had to do this with code 70, because there were no turnouts that fit the specific reqirements of space my layout created.
Good luck, and have fun with Narrow Guage.

Terry:

Make your own - you won't regret it! I've made all my own code 83 and there is nothing nicer than watching a train snake through switches that "flow."

I started with the MR article from a few years ago - put it in a sleeve protector. I keep it handy on my workbench.

I now make sections of switches (yard lead, town site, etc.) at the workbench, then incorporate into the layout - saves leaning over, etc.

Hope this helps!
