Why didn't I think of this? Good poll! I'm in the first category, closer to the zero end of things (though I've loved and collected trains for what seems like forever).

Oh gee! Well, if we go by when I got my first model - a Lionel, that was in 1957.
My first HO modelling started in 1990, but I haven't done much for the past 10 years.
I'm working with a club in N-scale right now, but I've only been with them for 6 months.

Oh, and I'm 51.

Ii seems to me that the average modeler is between 500 and 1000, maybe it's just me.

I have about 40 years of model railroading experience, as I was introduced to the hobby at a young age by my father.
I don't concider myself an expert, but rather an experienced model railroader.

Hheheh, oh alright, but bear with me, it's early and this may not come out right:

Expirience = Absolute(((Actual Years Modeling + Number fo years In Club) * total Hours spent gabbing in LHS) * (Number of Steam Engines in roster - Number of deisels on roster) * (EGO /100))

Hmm...using that, guess i should have gone a bit firther than 1000
