I hear that BLI will FINALLY have the NW switchers arriving next week... knock on wood... I will believe it when I see it at the store.

I dont see myself participating in pre-orders too much anymore, my roster is essentially complete, (I will always buy one or two engines that I like and AVAILIBLE RIGHT THEN Not 2 years later or ever) rolling stock finished and structures are either being built or purchased on schedule without the wait.

However, I think that PCM/BLI/FDT will need to sit down in a quiet place and re-assess thier lost mission goal. They say that "Silence No More" when they barged into the HO market with their locomtives. Is it possible that due to excessive silence that BLI is no more?

If they are trying to lead us lemmings into the land of total pre-order with no exceptions or very limited overs for the john q public who might read an advertisement in MR 3 months only to learn it;s out of production and sold out.

Yet the advertisements roll on. Whose lack of oversight is that?
The BLI Switchers will indeed arrive in a week and the new run of RSD-15s is already available.

You can either pre-order their models or you can buy them when they hit the stores. You only need to act fast when you don't pre-order and you can't expect that these models should sit at dealers for years and years so you have enough time to decide whether you will buy it or not.
There were two B&O Switchers in different numbers that I placed a firm order for last spring at the Hobby Shop. Let's see... **Counts fingers... aha. 12 months and waiting.

Several times I was tempted to cancel the order and go with the Atlas Switchers also in the B&O several months ago that were availible and ready to go right that week.

The reason I did not get the Atlas units is because they were not built with Sound out of the factory, If I bought a Dual Mode DCC Decoder, speakers, wires etc etc and had the installation done the cost will overrun that of the NW2's

Several other engines I have been waiting on almost two years and one in particular was cancelled after I purchased the walthers 2-10-2 from proto that fit the bill and was also availible immediately.

I look forward to positive improvements in announcments, updating of availiblity dates and better oversight of the entire process of a engine from start to delivery to the LHS's. or more precisely, completion of the production run once all of the items are packed up in China and put on the US bound ship.
