Modeling in multiple guages / scales

I was wondering how many modelers model in more than one gauge / scale. I have many small layouts. I model in N gauge, H.O., Lionel 027, and have a G gauge garden railroad. I just find it difficult to stick to one size. And beyond that I also have On30 and a real oddball H.O.e narrow gauge european.

I can't stick to one scale either. I model in N ,HO ,O , O gauge , G and 1 1/2" scale.

I model HO standard gauge but have an interest in HO narrow gauge--I have plans to build a micro-mini layout (less than two square feet) that I can keep in the house in HOn3, once my HO traction layout is a bit closer to completion....might take a few years, though.

G gauge indoors layout and an HOn30 micro layout, both under construction but the trains are running.

I have changed scales twice, HO to O to S. While I am only working in S right now, I have saved all my HO and O and may again build a small layout in those scales.

I also can't stick with just one gauge. I have HO, S and O which I run on layouts in my basement, plus some really cheap G scale trains that I have displayed along the top of the walls.

I presently model in On30 and HO standard (both are incorporated in the same layout). In addition to those, I am thinking of building a small shelf-type indoor super detailed Large Scale logging layout and maybe even a 3' x 6' portable N scale layout. Since I like all scales and gauges, it is impossible for me to stick with only one!

Only one for me!!! I have tried them all, but 20 years ago I swore off all but 3 rail O. It wasn't easy, but I knew I had to make a choice if I was ever going do anything serious. I still love all trains, and there are days when I wish I was back in HO, but I'm happy with the decision.

I have modeled HO primarily for many years, but have recently gotten into G scale. The strange thing about G is that it has far less detail than HO, and there are more varieties of Kadee couplers in G than in HO. It's a real mess trying to get couplers that match up in G scale because every manufacturer has their own idea of how high or low a coupler should be, and Kadee is the only "standard" coupler. After ignoring G for all these years, the NMRA tried to step in and establish some standards, but was told to buzz off and mind its own business.

I only have a shelf layout with O27 at present and was thinking about doing an HO layout in a room I'm building, but I just bought (and hour ago) a nice little Savannnah and Atlanta O27 tank car and it's trailing faithfully along behind my UP diesel as I write, just like it knew what it was doing.[^]
So, I'm thinking about just doing an around the wall O27 scale in that room, or should it be HO. I could look into narrow guage or S.. I need help for this addiction!!

As many of you know I mention the fact I have 2 industrial switching layouts.I have one in HO and one in N scale..You see I like both scales and I had to much tied up in HO to get rid of it and didn't want to sell my N scale.So,for me why not both?[:D] Of course I get a lot of open mouth stares when I buy a new HO and N scale at the same time.Another fact is I have DCC/Sound equipped locos in HO and I surely didn't want to give those up plus I am a member of a HO club and been in that club for almost 13 years..So a happy medium for me was to model in both scales.

On a recent trip to the hobby shop, I purchased a N Scale loco, HO scale building, O scale flat car, and a G scale magazine.

I have collections of stock in N, HO, OO and G scales, though I only have a layout in HO - the G scale is set up outdoors in decent weather and operated round the tree at Christmas. The N and OO are currently packed away - I'm vaguely planning a German N-scale setup using mostly Fleischmann equipment though extending the HO will come first!

I've got HO and O 3=rail in roughly equal proportions, plus a lap of G and a lap of S (around the Christmas tree).
