I think hobby shops are disappearing largely at their own hand. Before the internet I had to put up with goofballs who only want to be open every odd tuesday in june or some goofy hours and only cater to what the owner likes or were hidden all the way out in the middle of nowhere. Thanks to the internet we can now buy anything we want at almost any time of day from the comfort of our own home. Sure the flat earth society will cry but oh well let them live in their prehistoric world. The rest of us will be running our trains.
