Well...I'm not much into "modern" railroading (after about 1980) but I could REALLY do the Virginian in the late 1960's to mid 1970's. I'd stick with their basic black with yellow paint scheme, lettering and heralds. I'd have to keep some Train-Masters around and since FM would be gone they would have switched over to Alco for their heavy six-axle power......C-628/630/636 and for 4-axle power they would have RS-11's and some C-420/430's. Obviously they would keep the high short hoods! <br /> <br />Electric service would still be utilized and the E-2c's and EL-C's would still be working along with E-44's and the Great Northern W-1 after GN retired their wires. <br /> <br />BA Berkshire #507 would have been preserved along with a PA 4-6-2 for their operating/historical collection. <br /> <br />Naturally they would have cabooses but almost all of those would have been replaced by International wide-vision types.
