Building the Rock Ridge Railroad with the slowest construction crew west of the Pecos.
Jwar, if you find some let me know. They seem to like to throw turn outs and work there deeds in my Big Boys. Plus was getting ready to post how great my Hudson was pulling better than the day I got it. Seems the AMC thingies knew it and it wont make it around the bench?
Pesttie little buggers.

Gremlins? I always thought it was ghosts. I used to swear I had a ghost that followed me around while working on *(whatever)* and move tools, parts, etc., while I was working, usually to the most inconvenient spot or (even worse), just out of reach while you had your arm twisted in the most unusual shape to remove that last bolt. Of course, you'd have to un-contort your arm just to move the 2-3 inches or so just for that wrench.
Of course, I also swear mechanical things sometimes not only have a mind of their own, but also develop personalities based on usage, maintenance, t.l.c., wear and tear, modifications, and what not. I believe that if you had 10 identical cars, let 10 different people drive them, but keep identical (as much as possible) maintenance done on them, after a couple years, they will all drive differently, and have their own "personalities"; each one will handle slightly differently, fuel mileage will vary somewhat, oil consumption rates will differ, etc. I've owned several cars that didn't seem to like anyone other than myself to drive them. One was a '73 Dodge pickup with a 4-speed, everyone (else) who tried to drive it would always get the tranny hung up in 2 gears at once.
Real railroaders used to say the same thing about steamers. Of course, in later years, virtually all steamers (from a given class) had differences and various modifications, so it's easy to justify each having its own "personality".

Of course you all know you can't kill gremlins, but you can make life miserable for them by being organized and on top of everything. They can't stand people that are on the ball and take good care of things. As for Santa, the Easter bunny, the tooth fairy and so forth. We'll get back to them later...

May because it was a Mopar, my daughter first car was a Road Runner like my self. She could not keep the car running and said there was no power? I rebulit the Holley 750 two times and then bought a new one and tuned it. My self and two car friends never had a problem with it stalling? As far as power, could lite the hides for 30 feet on a roll?
Jamie drove the car with her in it not a hitch. Stopped the car she took the wheel put it in gear, yep it died? Took it to gate way drag strip, I cut 2 14.8 runs (it was stock) her turn, it died when she stagged it?
She gave up on it, sold to a guy she knew. Now runs 12's with the same engine and carb. Engine got some other good stuff. Oh her 2006 likes to die as well?

That kind of sounds like those people that draw lightning. They'll get hit over and over again but seldom ever get killed by it. On the other hand, if it were to hit anyone else they'd probably die the first time. Go figure...

Ken, that just goes to support my theory!
One of my uncles had an old Impala that originally had a 409 in it. He pulled that out and dropped a built 454 in it, he claimed that scared him less. For some reason, only he and I could get some really good 1/4 mile times (12-13 range) out of that car, anyone else who drove it could only get 15-16 second times. I ran mile drags in my 76 Monaco (cop car), usually turning 210-212 at the line (can't remember times, though). I fould that running a 6,600 pound car on 1/4 mile runs didn't work so well, that car needed better than half a mile to get up to speed. I passed many cars in the last 1/4 to 1/10th mile on mile runs. It seems 1/4 mile cars are only good for just that, and a long run is just too much for some of them.
Now, SOMEBODY prove me wrong! I need cold hard facts, something I can research and verify.
now if it was a ford, id be able to tell ya what the problem was without ever seeing it!!!
i find that the less organized i am the better i can find stuff. i have a 2200 sf warehouse for the bussiness, and every one who sees it says i need to clean it up, but i know where everything is...go figure, if i did clean it id never find anything...lol
Well, down here in the Southwest, I got a bad case of the La Gremialns. Little buggers can run amuck if you let them...but I am on top of them.. I got the shop vac, the brrom, lots of small boxes for my supplies, plenty of shelves........
Hey! Come back here with my needle nose pliers you little @#$!
