I have to replace a broken roof on a Rivarossi heavy style gray & blue B&O observation car, either that, or get a replacement car itself. Does anyone know of a source for either?

Rivarossi parts are spotty at best to find. Best bet may be to buy a junker on E bay for a couple of bucks that has the parts you need. Sometimes local hobby shops also have stuff people want to sell. It wouldn't hurt to ask or post something at a local hobby shop also.

Robert;
You may be able to get suitable replacement roof from one of these:
http://www.easterncarworks.com/

http://www.mdcroundhouse.com/
Or this is wood that you have to cut to length, and form the ends.

Walthers is also the current importer of Rivarossi, and may have what you are looking for.
Good Luck
