I can't speak for the subway set, but replaced all the MTH electronics in a D&RGW Challenger and it wasn't terrible. I went through and made a list of which wire was positive for the LEDs and the rail pickups. On my conversion the MTH wire and solder joints seemed pretty brittle, so I unsoldered the factory wires and replaced them to prevent trouble in the future.

Good Luck, Morpar

MTH DTS Decoders

Hi,

I have an MTH subway set with their dual function DTS/DCC decoder (of course). Can I swap out their decoder for a regular DCC decoder? I realize I will lose all the sound recordings programmed into the set, but still, is this doable? If it is, would any DCC decoder work?
