Ah, you're right. I guess I read the spec wrong. I'll test it out in the morning.

Terry,

  • Start voltage (Vstart) is CV2
  • Maximum voltage (Vmax) is CV5
  • Momentun is CV3 & CV4

Use your Power Cab to read CV2 in Programming Mode and change it to a lower value, if possible.

Not a big fan of MRC sound.  Someone on here said their newer sound decoders are much better than their initial offerings - i.e. pre-2010.  You might want to check to see if the speaker baffle is defective or missing.  That might account for the weak sound output.

Just received my new mogul and test ran on single track with my NCE powercab. Sound is weak, I thought the whistle was a startup engine sound. Not sharp at all. Startup speed was way too high, 20, I tri3d to change the start voltage cv but it didn't seem to take. Doc says cv 3=10 for starting voltage. 

any help? I'm not that fluent in DCC, and I tested my track with my Berkshire and it performed as expected.
