Terrific! Glad to hear that worked for you.
Like with a Windows PC - sometimes a simple "reboot" (decoder reset) is all you need to fix a sudden quirky or unresponsive decoder.

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.
Hi All, Here is the latest on my locomotive decoder problem, I reset the decoder, set it to 082, and she sung like a bird in the spring morning!!! LOL, Thanks for the help from all of you, I'll be asking more questions when the time comes,
Thank You Tom, I will let you know how this works, it should clear up the problem, and yes I push FO and lights do come on.
But F8 wouldn't affect movement; only sound. Something else must be going on if the locomotive is not moving.
To the OP: Does pressing F0 turn your headlights on and off?
Okay, just so I'm clear: Did you perform a factor reset mentioned earlier using CV8=8? Whether you did or didn't, try it again and cyle power immediately afterward, as that might clear up any anomolies that may be happening with the P3 decoder.
As mentioned, those particular BLI decoders have been notoriously problematic. If the reset doesn't clear up the problem I would try contacting the BLI Service Department by email. You may need to ship the locomotive back to BLI for inspection/repair. Shouldn't cost you anything if the locomotive is new.
Hi Tom That's the problem, it happened while it was in factory setting "3", it's has a sound decoder, I have lights, but no sound or movement.
TrainsRMe1I Know the loco is from Broadway unliminted, I'm operating on DCC
If it's new Broadway Limited locomotive then it's probably a Paragon3 decoder, which has had it's issues. I would try resetting the decoder back to factory standard by changing CV8 to "8" then cycling power - i.e. turn your DCC system off then on. That will return the decoder address back to "3". You can then re-address your decoder to whatever address you were operating it on before.
Before doing that: Have you tried operating your locomotive on address "3" to see if it will run? Worth trying before resettting.
What did you get when you tried reset? (CV 8 set to 8)

Do you know what decoder is in your locomotive? Are you operating in DC or DCC?
