If it's failing to read CVs - check your wiring. The motor connection especially, since that is how decoders signal the command station on readback.
You should not have problems reading any plain motor decoder, ever. Unless it has a keep alive connected.

A friend has a new DigiTrax DH126D Mobile Decoder and is having trouble reading CVs on an NCE system. I believe the decoder is supposed to support reads, although the advertised spec says "Program CVs using any Digitrax Compatible Control system without having to buy any extra equipment." Does anyone have any info as to whether this should work on non-Digitraxx systems?
