If you have already performed the CV changes, and your drive mechanism is still obviously not behaving, you should contact Rapido and explain your situation.  Chances are that your motor is defective.  If the decoder has been reset, then it's not the settings, but it COULD BE the decoder.

Weren't the original motors bad?   How long ago did you return it?  I'm pretty sure Rapido did a youtube on the motor problem

Rapido RS-18 drawing lots of amps?

Hey everyone my RS-18 I dont think has ever operated properly I sent it back once because it was super jerky and made clicking sounds, I got it back and it still does not seem right. If I set the it to speed step 28 it goes fast then slows down then speeds up in random spots and tracking the power draw it goes from .41 amps to .80 amps also in random spots. Also I tried to activate the back emf thingy they recommand and that causes the loco to not be able to move at all.

So what gives?
