CVP's description of the CONVERTR says you still need a separate decoder, plus room for a battery. Most HO models barely have room for a decoder alone, so you would probably need a dummy locomotive or some type of trailing battery car.
The next best thing is Ring Engineering's RailPro system, which can draw its power from the track on a DCC equipped layout, so you don't need space for batteries.
Greetings,
Has anyone had any experience with this battery powered radio controlled system? Seems to offer a lot of promise and would really make model railroading easier for those who don't like to spend their modeling time wiring.
I'm totally in the dark about this system, but I know I like CVP products in conventional DCC. Any insight would be appreciated.
