DC Light Board on new GP20's?
Posted by blabride on Sunday, February 16, 2014 9:22 AM

Does anyone know if Walthers has changed the light board on the new run GP20's? I am thinking of a CB&Q or a Cotton Belt but I would like to know if they have updated the light board to a JST nine pin. Which would make programing the extra light functions a lot easier than the older 8 pin board.

Thanks

As an experienced installer I don't put much faith in the factory boards. I always wire in LEDs and resistors with a nine pin JST harness. Just a little more work but a huge difference in trouble shooting problems later down the road. I have run into too many issues with factory boards and a big plus is more room for decoders.
