Not to be a nag, but before you go any further, gauge and fix the turnout. If you don't, you will have no end of derailment issues.

I will agree with David that gauging is important, more so on a 3-way turnout than on any other type of turnout.  The 3-way turnout is quite finicky, probably because of so many moving parts.

I have a Walthers/Shinohara 3-way, but I don't believe that should make any difference. You will need two separate controls-one for each set of points. Just go through the sequence of alignments you will need for each direction of traffic.

Dante

I also have the Walthers Shinohara 3-way turnouts, and I agree with Dante.

Unless you automate the routing somehow, the correct routing will require two independent switching actions, one for each switch motor.

From a Google search.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.

PECO 3-way Switch Wiring
Posted by wigman on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 8:12 PM

I am stumped. No instructions in the package with the switch, no info on the PECO site -

How do I wire up one of these 3-way switches?  I already have the switch motors installed, is there a single switch handle that will work the entire switch for all 3 directions, or do I have to wire it up like 2 separate switches?

Thanks for your help...
