I purchased Kato's N Scale Untrack "Salt Lake Route" track pack and spent yesterday setting it up on my train table. There's not much instruction in the pack other than a diagram with all the track part numbers.
What confuses me is how to wire this for DC (I don't have DCC and don't plan on having it). There are at least five track feeders provided (041) another (043) in the elevated double track section and no less than seven points for inserting feeds to regular sections of track. Say what? Why so many feeds? Is it to isolate power to the yard or siding? If so, shouldn't there be some connectors provided to isolate those sections (none were provided).
I have two Kato Power Packs at the moment. Do I need more? And how can I get all these wire feeds from not only the track but switches into one or two (or more) power packs?
This layout is perfect for my tiny apartment but until I can sort out how to power it, it's going nowhere.
