Troubleshooting Walther's Proto 2000 w QSI system:
A & B units fresh out of the box, stop & restart by themselves, When run for just a couple minutes they shut down and re start. sometimes even shutting down my DCC system. so I have to reboot the system, any ideas?
"Atlas" Valley Railroad
Dirty wheels, dirty pickups, dirty track.
Even fresh out of the box does not guarantee clean wheels - there could be residue like cutting oil from when the wheels were turned, or excess lubricant from the gears oozed over things.

Hi,
I had a similar issue with 2 P2K RS-27's running in consist. Over a particular turnout the units would stop and restart even though others would run without difficulty. Dirty track. The RS-27's must have hit the dirty track at the particular area to cause them to restrart .
All the best.

Do you have a circuit breaker on you layout? What system are you using
I had this problem also running 2 brand new locos, I cleaned track to make sure that wasn't an issue,
I use NCE with the SB3a booster with a EB1 circuit breaker and all I had to do was adjust the jumpers on the breaker to allow more amp draw .
It seemed the QSIs draw a bit more power to run so it kept tripping the breaker. Since then I have had no problems at all
if you have an EB1 you can find the manual online
Just search " EB1 circuit breaker manual"
you dont have em addressed on nother throttle by chance ? ...just a thought Jerry
