That's the 1st thing I did. The drive shaft turned the wheels in both directions so no obstructions there.
I reset the decoder to address 3 and it still runs in only one direction. I'll call Sountraxx to hear what they say.
I'd say the problem is you put an Alco sound decoder in a Baldwin !

If you take the shell off and spin the motor, do the wheels turn in both directions? You may have something stuck in the drive mechanism that only interferes in one direction.
On the other hand, I've had a Tsunami fail in a similar manner, so that may be it.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
Have you tried to reset the decoder? CV8 to 8, then remove the power.
If that does not make it run on address 3. I would think that you may have lost one of the drive transistors on the board.
Another throttle set to control the same channel would be my first guess.
I have a Bachmann RF-16 Diesel loco (DCC equipped). I replaced the original decoder with a Tsunami Alco 539T sound decoder. I have an NCE wireless Power Pro system. Everything ran fine for several days and the it stopped going in reverse. The reverse light works and the diesel engine revs up but it won't move, even at top speed. I changed CV 29 to reverse the motor but to no avail- it still only goes in the forward direction. Any ideas what may be wrong?
