Yes,Crandell,,that is a very good job,,,,,It sort of reminds me of a layout I had in the 60's,train goes in one tunnel and guess, which one it comes out..Looking real good...
Cheers,
Frank

"Ladies and gentlemen, I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that both engines have failed, and we will be stuck here for some time. The good news is that you decided to take the train and not fly."
Yes, it is an impressive piece of engineering, although there is at least one similar spiral tunnel in the western USA if I am not mistaken...maybe two.
I decided to try my hand at a helix for this go-round, and even added some tunnels to mimick the look of the Othello Tunnel Complex on the Kettle Valley Railway partway along the spiral route. Here is what it looks like without any scenery:
Once I had the mountain built and enclosed, it looks like this:
Crandell
took the train trip across canada,,was so impressed about one section near the end of the trip (vancover) how the designers of the route brought the track out of a mountain and looped it to raise it up so the exit of the tunnel would be up higher,,, they had to do this because the track had to be higher grade than what a train could pull... So by taking the track outside the mountain and looping it the gained grade and had a place to move out rock.... this section is what i am modeling... Now i am thinking about dcc to add a more realistic look to the speed of the train.........................
