Or it might be cheaper to get a new AR1. Or get one of the electronic ones that do not use relays. Joe
If that's the case, and if you didn't mess with the track work or wiring, then my best guess is that the mechanical relay on the AR-1 is sticking.
If that is the problem, Digitrax can repair it.

Give me another day or two had to leave the US for awhile will get back to try to tweek the unit some more. To answer some questions, all locos set the noise off and the unit worked fine for years untill last week.

ba&prr The AR-1 is adjustable. The instructions tell you how to set it. It might need to be re adjusted. Joe

Good point, Joe.
I'd like to hear back from the OP with a little more info.
Do all locos make the AR-1 click?
Just this one loco?
Is it new on the layout?
The constant clicking indicates that the AR1 is in a constant state of reversing polarities.
That clicking is the mechanical relay reversing polarities.
Either the wheels of the loco are shorting the rails or the AR1 has turned faulty.
Is the clicking occurring on a turnout?
This AR1 has been working fine however lately as the engine runs on the tracks on the section I hear a constant klickin noise. Engine never stops just a constant klicking from the AR1. Any ideas?
