Another word of warning -- NEVER run the vacuum portion of the track cleaning car at full throttle or you'll burn it up.  I think even the instructions have this warning somewhere in them.

The vacuum cleaner is the only thing about the Atlas cleaning car that is of any use at all -- the cleaning fluid reservoir doesn't hold enough to clean more than about 10 feet of track, and the cleaning pads are too small do do a good job.

In my opinion, this car is a total waste of money.

Thanks!  I'll give it a try.

Once decoder is installed , place on programming track. Turn the rotary switch on top to on then program like you would any other locomotive, Give it either a short or long address then mark the unit somewhere with the number. ----------  Ken

Programming an Atlas Track cleaning car for DCC
Posted by EMD#1 on Monday, March 18, 2013 1:58 PM

Hi all!

I have an Atlas HO scale track cleaning car that I installed a DCC decoder in.  My intention is to use the vacuum feature on this car on my MW track cleaning train but I don't know how to program it to work.  My layout is equipped with a Lenz DCC system.

Thanks!
